K3CB . . . . . . . ex K6LEW

5W on 24G, 2W on 47G, and on 76GHz approx +10dbm

The other pic's are of the "box" - one I actually fabricated and provide to folks around here as "portable" mw station. The "box" covers 33cm - 3 cm, from 10W to 200mw. I can use either a single antenna port (on the rear) for all bands or a separate port (also on the rear) for each band.

I have had an awful lot of questions about the MFJ 2M rig I use as the installed IF radio. Granted its USB and CW only, but the receiver will amaze you: 3rd order, phase noise (or lack there of), and dynamic range for this little box compare equally with the very finest receivers on the market today, RF output is easily adjustable and it doesn't spike when keyed. For portable use on Mt tops and batteries, its the perfect companion. A single "band select switch" moves the "box" from 33cm to whatever band is desired all the way to 3cm. So, all the "box" needs is 13.8 vdc, a suitable antenna for the desired frequency(ies), and a key if one wants to operate CW.
