February 2004, and SBMS members, Doug (K6JEY), Chuck (WA6EXV) and Dennis (WA6NIA)were at the SARA Conference. While standing on the 40 meter antenna's catwalk, some sixty feet up in the cold, winter air, all came to the same conclusion. This dish would be crackin' awesome for EME!
The conference was quite interesting, with presentations on amateur radio astronomy activies and opportunities, as well as having a keynote address by the former director of the Very Large Array in New Mexico.
Several SBMS members gave presentations as well. K6JEY spoke on Solar Radio Astronomy and WA6NIA made his bid against Broadband Over Powerline, BPL, a technology that threatens the effectiveness of communications in the HF spectrum.
