Ground Probe Calculator

This Windows program calculates ground permittivity and conductivity for antenna models from the impedance of an open wire line probe. It accommodates a probe partially inserted into hard ground, and it can suppress common-mode current. It models the inductance of the wire or strap that connects the rods and the capacitance due to solid dielectric between them. Skin depth can reveal the sampling limitation of a surface probe when the ground is inhomogeneous. Loss tangent indicates the relative influence of conductivity and permittivity. The program reads Touchstone, RigExpert, VNA4Win, and Array Solutions VNA files.
